Applications will be made to fill the form on this website (www.samsodisha.gov.in). According to sams data, plus three admissions will be held in 1053 colleges and universities for the current academic year. For this, there are a total of 2 lakh 73 thousand 184 seats. Of these, 1,55,168 are for Arts, 44,740 for Physics (Science), 28,116 in Bio Sciences, 32,028 in Commerce, 3,920 in Self Finance and 9,212 in Sanskrit.

Last year, 2,74,343 seats were admitted in 1,058 educational institutions. Of these, 2,05,081 were admitted and another 69,252 seats were lying vacant.

The Government of Odisha has approved the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for all undergraduate courses offered by Higher Educational institutions (HEls) under the administrative control of the Higher Education Department.

ln line with NEP-2020 structure, the term "Honours" has been replaced with "Major" and the General elective (GE) papers have been replaced with "Minor" papers.

Accordingly, during filling up the Common Application Form (CAF), applicants can choose their course type based on availability at their preferred institutions: (i) Single Major with two Minors, (ii) Double Major, or (iii) Three Minors. However, the selection will be done only for the Major-l subjects based on the applicants' preferred choices.

The seat allotment will be made as per the opted Major in Single Major, Major-l in Double Major and General in Three Minors. Apart from this, all other subjects will be mapped based on the request made by the student and counseling process at HEI Level.

Certain subjects under U.G. courses, such as BBA, BCA, integrated MBA, integrated MCA,4' year integrated B.A. B.Ed. /B.Sc. B.Ed. and 5 years integrated B.A (LLB) do not follow the same structure as the NEP Course Master. Therefore, during the CAF filling process, these courses will be displayed to the applicants in a separate tab as Non-NEP subjects.

For the Academic Session: 2025-26, the U.G. admission process wilt start early, regardless of the declaration of +2/equivalent results. A ten-day window after publication of CHSE result shall be provided to the applicants for uploading their marks prior to the seat allocation process. For CHSE board students, their marks will fetch directly from the CHSE database.

ln the current academic session, Phase-l admission will be conducted initially. Based on the availability of vacant seats, the Higher Education Department may consider conducting Phase-ll or SPOT admissions later, only for the left out or fresh applicants.

Applicants, who got selected and taken admission during the Phase-l admission process (in any of the rounds) in any subject at any Higher Education institutions (HEls) will not be eligible to participate in further phase/round of admission process, which will be available exclusively for the left out or fresh students.
